Flute Choir

The Enchanted Flute Choir was formed by Ms. Breilein in June of 2005. Kim’s private students are not required to be members of the flute choir, but many are because we have so much fun! One aim in forming this ensemble was to make specialized flute instruction available to those unable to take advantage of private lessons, due to either financial or time restrictions. There is a tuition fee for the flute choir, but it is significantly less than private lessons. Sessions usually run for around 10 weeks, and include weekly rehearsals and a concert performance. The flute choirs perform at various local venues (retirement centers, the local shopping mall, and more) in additional to the final concert. Tuition for a session of flute choir is currently $75.

There are three levels of ensembles:

The Prelude Ensemble is for new beginners. A fun way to become acquainted with the flute in a group setting! Learn the basics of tone production and flute technique, while preparing a few tunes for performance.

The Intermezzo ensemble is designed for advanced beginner and intermediate flute students. This group offers a terrific opportunity to learn more about proper technique and explore the wide range of music written and arranged for flute ensemble.

The Encore Ensemble is made up of advanced high school and adult flutists. This is their opportunity to challenge their technique and musicianship with more difficult and complex music.

Each session of flute choir will also include a couple of “combined” ensemble numbers, giving the younger, less experienced players an opportunity to play along with the more advanced performers. And what a glorious sound when we all play together!
